Short, and meant to be read. If anything here is unclear, ask.
You own what you write. By contributing you are not handing it over: you are lending it to the magazine, for the issue you agreed to, and nothing more.
Before anything appears, in the magazine or in print, Zaheer sends you the piece exactly as it will run and asks you to confirm it. The line you are agreeing to is this: “I’m happy for this piece to be published in seeds & shoots, online and in any print edition, exactly as I wrote it, under the name I have given. I understand that nothing is published until I have said so, and that I can ask for it to be taken down at any time.” Silence is never a yes. If we change anything beyond a typo, we ask you first.
You can ask for a piece to be taken down whenever you like, for any reason, by writing to Zaheer. It comes off the site as soon as he can make the change, usually within a day or two. Print copies already made cannot be recalled, but a piece you have withdrawn is left out of any later printing.
If you sign up, we keep your name, your email and the note if you wrote one, in a private list that only Zaheer and his coordinator can see. We never share it, sell it, or use it for anything but telling you about this magazine. If you contribute, we also keep what you send until the issue is done and you tell us otherwise.
Nothing that identifies you. The site has no accounts, no tracking and no advertising. The only thing that may be stored in your browser is a small token from Cloudflare’s spam check when you use the sign-up form.
Write to hello@seedsandshoots.com. He reads everything himself.
Draft wording, subject to Zaheer’s approval before it is published.
