continue readingMy father has been gone four years and still I reach for the phone on the good-news days, the ones he would have wanted first. The reaching is the wake he left. It is shaped exactly like him, and it follows me at exactly my speed.
The version of me my family still describes at dinner. Kind of them, and years out of date. I keep meaning to correct the record, and keep deciding it is easier to stay a rumour.
