The water does not know what kind of year I am having. It comes in anyway.

For most of my working life I was the one who held the plan. Then my mother started forgetting the stove, and my daughter started needing me home by six, and I found I could not hold both the plan and the people. I chose the people. Nobody warns you that the choosing is the easy part, and the Tuesday afternoons are the hard one.

I am not a writer. I sit with a question on my walk by the Tejo and see what the water does with it. This is my first season with seeds & shoots.
